Cirencester Park is open to the public free of charge, for visitors on foot and on horseback by kind permission of the 9th Earl and Countess Bathurst, as well as the trustees of The Earl’s Fund.

Please ensure that visitors make a note and respect the opening times and simple rules shown below.

Opening Times

8am to 5pm every day throughout the year, where visitors are welcome to walk or enjoy the scenery on horseback. Cycling is not permitted.  Drones are not permitted unless specific permission has been given.

Please note: Access to certain, or all areas of the estate, especially on particular occasions, may be restricted from time to time. These may be subject to change, reflecting different events. These changes will normally be indicated, as much as is possible, by notices posted within the Park itself.

Dog Walking

Whilst dogs are warmly welcome with their owners, please be sure to remain within the indicated walking areas and that dogs are kept under control. In consideration to other walkers, it would be appreciated if owners pick up after dogs – bins are provided.

In order to protect wildlife, there is strictly no access for dogs further west than the ‘T-junction’ at the top of the Broad Avenue (approximately three quarters of a mile from the town/Cecily Hill entrance to the estate, where the tarmac road ends) and no access for dogs from any entrance other than Cecily Hill gates. This includes riders who may wish to take dogs hacking. Notices clearly mark these areas – please look out for them.

Conservation Strips On Farmland

If walking on agricultural land, please respect the estate is a working farm. There are specifically laid out Conservation Strips down the sides of the farmed fields and these are to be strictly avoided, whether on foot or on horseback. Notices indicate these areas – please look out for them, they are there to encourage flora and fauna and it is extremely important they remain undisturbed.

General Park Rules

There is strictly no access to unauthorised vehicles of any description.

In order to protect the sensitive flower and fauna, there are no bicycles or motorbikes permitted.

To prevent litter and fires, picnic parties, fires or camping are all strictly prohibited.

If parking along the roadside in order to walk in the Park, please respect that this is a working estate with farm and estate vehicles needing access to all areas. Please park with care and do not obstruct gateways.

At all times, please honour the Countryside Code, and take your litter home.
